Purple Spirit Day
Today is Purple Spirit Day, 2013!
Wear the color purple or a purple awareness ribbon to show support for our GLBT youth and to take a stand against bullying!
This annual day is observed on the third Thursday of October. Millions of Americans wear purple to visually speak out against bullying and to demonstrate concern for all GLBT and questioning youth.
First held in 2010, Spirit Day was conceived by a teenager, Brittany McMillan, in order to remember those young people who committed suicide as a result of being bullied due to their sexuality.
